My girlfriend and I got everything crammed in the jeeps Friday night and headed out to the desert around 8:30pm. We drove through the wind and the rain and arrived at truckhaven/ ocotillo wells area around 11:30 pm and setup our tent where our friends were suppose to be camping at. We arrived at our campsite only to find one truck with a tent setup. It looked a little odd because we were expecting some motorhomes and some other family's that we were suppose to camp with. So I called my friend to make sure we were at the right spot. Everything was good so we finished unpacking all the sleeping bags and pillows. We fell asleep to the wind blowing and the rain blasting our tent. The next morning we wake up to find a motorhome pulling up to our camp. It turns out that the motorhome was parked somewhere else because the ground was to soft. so I get to talking to the guy and he belongs to the Hemet jeep club. He was pretty stoked because he usually doesn't have any other jeeps to go wheeling with on family desert trips. so we start talking jeep talk and decide to go on a little run to explore the area. We go through some pretty cool washes and little canyons. The second wave of clouds start making their way down to the desert. We head back to camp before it rained. We had a great night playing card games and watching little kangaroo rats bounce everywhere. the next morning we saw some awsome rock crawlers that were at the 4x4 training area and decided to take a look at these rigs. Terra Del sol was out there setting up the training area so we continued on to find some more areas to conquer. We find this pretty vertical mound about 50 feet high and our new friend from Hemet tried to go up it and failed trying to get over the top and decided to go around the mound. I was determined to make it up this mound. So I put it in 4wheel high and put it in 2nd and i got about three quarters of the way up. I then put in 4 wheel low and then in 1st and go at it again. again I get stuck. I figured what I need is speed. so I back up and

and put in 4wheel high and then in drive and punch the gas. I get to the same spot I was getting stuck at and my front driverside wheel came up off the hill and that moved the weight over and my jeep grabbed and made it over the top. This hill was near vertical and it was just an awsome experience to have made it upand over(I have no lockers and stock diffs). Everyone was cheering and my buddy who has never gone jeeping before was just blown away. He's like "that's crazy! I can't believe jeeps will do all this stuff! Better yet I can't believe you can do this stuff in a daily driver!" we kind of laughed and everyone else had their turn. We climb back into this little canyon and there is nothing but trails going straight up the hill side. so we tried a couple only to get stuck from the muddy ground. Our hemet jeep club guy makes it up this trail so my girlfriend goes up about half way and stops. Then gases it a little then snap. my buddy and I were like that doesn't sound good. so we tell them to stop and I shake the back passenger side tire and it is wobbling. she broke her axle, so were like crap we have no way to tow it back to camp. Our friends were kind enough to watch the jeep while we look for someone to help us tow her out of the there. We find this guy with a brand new f250 with a lift on it and a trailer that would normally be used for quads and dirtbikes. We get back to where her jeep was and this guy goes to back up the trailer only to get stuck in the mud. So we try to put the truck in 4x4 and nothing was happening. So we took the trailer off and hooked it up to my jeep. We get her jeep on the trailer and I wheel the trailer and her jeep out of the canyon. What an experience that was.lol We get to s22 and head to holly road. we get to camp and her sister happend to be in the area with a car hauling trailer so they picked up the jeep and took it home with them. Even with all the rain and wind it was an awsome trip and will definitly have some good memories to look back on. I will post up pictures in the next couple days for all of you guys to enjoy.
