Moorehouse and I got out to the campground at 2:00 on Friday cracked open a cold one Cheers and toasted the fact that we weren't at work.  By the time we took a couple of swigs the fly's started the relentless assault of my head.  I have never seen anything like it, there were so many flies.  The more I swatted them away the more their friends decided to join in the fun of biting and flying into my ears.  2guns It was bad but we figured it might get better.  We got a couple of the SCUFF signs setup and waited for MT and Tags to arrive.  They came in a little while later and got setup.  Moorehouse and I decided to run the Perimeter road because when the trucks were moving the flies didn't bother you.   We made it to Trail-11 and decided it was a good time to run 11-A.  That trail has turned into a pretty fun loop.

We made it all the way around to the slab towards the end before we ran into a little trouble.  With some good spotting I made it up the slab then got out to spot Moorehouse and he ended up twisting his front drive-shaft in half.  With a little help from the winch, strap and skinny pedal we made it back out to the main road and headed back to camp.  By the time we got back the sun was going down and the flies had gone.  punk It made for a real nice time around the campfire.  Drink
When I woke up the next morning I thought the flies were gone for about two minutes and the the attack began all over again.  About the time we started to get things packed up, cj54x showed up and we all got busy cleaning up the fire pits and picking up trash.  It only took about an hour and the pits were all cleaned out.
When we were done with that I couldn't take the flies anymore and I packed up and headed home.   no no no ThumbDown ThumbDown ThumbDown censored censored censored Hopefully next time the flies won't be around.
I hate flies!!!!!!

Was a good time wheelin.  Thanks to cj54x for showing up to help clean the fire pits.  Felt good to help keep the place open!!!  The wheelin was good to.  I was gonna call this the 11A poser shot run...

My home made drive shaft didn't hold up to the 401 and 35's at full droop, the joint locked up and ripped it at the weld.

And thanks to Chad for clearancing my license plate... Thanks ThumbUp

Good trip fellas and Tags.  I had fun.

Looks like y'all had a good time out there.  Wish I could have made it, but duty.....and the continued repair of my rig called.  I am hoping to get it back up and running by the time I leave for deployment.

In talking to the ranger yesterday the Flys should be around until around the end of July. You will need a fly or mosquito net head mask if you are going to be some what exposed to these guys, and yes they bite.  Thanks to those that showed up to do the dirty work of everyone else. The lower campground is all cleaned up of trash that had been blown around as well as the fire rings. The upper campground was not done due to the lack of bags and the flys!  We will be doing another trip soon for the upper campgrounds. Big thanks to Ken for coming out just to clean... Thank you sir ThumbUp clap

Its getting sweeter all the time. Thinking it needs a 4 wheel drive unit under it. Thinking I will be looking good deal on a complete vehicle less motor. Im thinking Id like to beable to get off the beaten path to do the camping. TDay You know, get away from the flys!
