Hey guys,
Awesome site, I'm a new member who is 17 and recently got a red 96 ZJ.

She is stock for now, but cant wait to get a nice lift kit. I plan to start with a iro 3.5 lift and 31's and then work my way up to something bigger and badder.

I was wondering if anyone could point me to the right direction for some stock able trails. I live in Rancho Bernardo. Also, how do you get my hands on one of those sick SCUFF stickers??

Here is a pic of her, sorry for the bad cell phone pic

Well I just happen to have one Red windshield sticker left. Stop by the shop here in Spring Valley or make the next meet and greet and we can hook ya up. Thanks for joining in here there are lots of mods you can do but take your time and get a plan together before you start piecing things together. You probably already know how capable the stock rigs are. Just a little ground clearance and you can go just about anywhere cross country.   Welcome again and thanks for the pic.  Welcome Welcome Welcome Cheers

Ya, after a year or so of researching I've got a pretty long list of parts to get.

And it would kinda be hard for me to stop by so any idea when the next meet and greet could be?

Welcome to !!!  Those ZJ's can do amazing things with very little help.  I had a 93 with a 3.5" Tuff Country lift on 31's, very capable of almost anything I threw at it.  Are you running the V8 or the 4.0?

After a FSJ, a free Jeep is my next favorite.  I would recommend to drive it around a bit and get a feel for it.  Find folks that have a similar rig and see what they have and see if they like it or not.  Find out what type of wheeling you find yourself into so that you can build it to what you wheel.  I am sure you have a limited budget, so make it count.  Either way, welcome to the group here.  You will find tons of support, help, and even a little bit of good ole ribbing.  There is a great group of folks here and most will help you out when you need it.

Welcome! Congrats on the jeep, specially for free.  There is a good trail up north, the abandoned airport. It's up the 15 off deer springs road.  It's pretty easy but also challenging and a good road to have fun on. I wouldn't mind taking you up there, but I'm currently stroking my 4.0. As soon as it's done I'm down though.  I live in MM btw, if you need any help with your rig or anything feel free to ask.

No need to apologize for the 4.0.  That's what I was running in my ZJ.  It definitely doesn't have the V8 power, but they are pretty much bulletproof and torquey little bastards.  Enjoy and I hope to see you in the dirt!! Cheers

Wow, so that is a trail?!?!?! I saw a liberty go up the coldisack by the gas station one time and he went through that trail, wow i just thought it was a random spot that was probably illegal. Never really looked into it till now, but what is the deal with it? And i love to go with you some time. May check it out with my uncle and his jk and maybe his friend with a yj.

Yeah that's a trail. Check it out on Google Maps and you can see there are a bunch of different dirt trails out there and you can find the airport that way.  Sounds like you already got a crew to check it out. Hopefully by next weekend my Jeep will be running.
