I had a 1950 pickup back in high school so this brings back the memories. I have been wanting to build a hotrod for a while now and just waiting for the right project to hit me. I have a few questions that you guys can help with, it looks like the owner has done a lot of good work allready. He installed a 351 windsor out of a 70's Torino and from the research I have done it puts out stock between 200 and 250 hp depending on the block ( not enough). It look like from the pics he has added heads and a 4 barrel carb but not sure what else. I know the Chevy small block can put out big numbers what about Fords little V8? The trans is a 3 speed auto most likely out of the same Torino,  will that hold up and will I be able to cruise on the highway? What do you thick is a fair offer?
Thanks
Mogman

Hey if you would rather have a 50 Chevy panel Ive got one that is for sale... clown But if your serious about buying it it looks like a nice Ford. Now is the time to buy, prices are low on the old tin and this stuff just isnt moving right now. Keep in mind that it will bounce back and whan it does there is a good chance you could turn it and make a nice little profit. Id throw a price out of $4500.00 at him. Right now I think it would be a $5000.00  truck not a $8000.00 in this economy. Throw some of your hand brushed paint on it and watch it appreciate.  TDay

Ford motors can go just like Chevy motors.  Chevy's are just more common and popular so there is more knowledge and aftermarket floating around.  When it comes down to it, all motors react to the same upgrades.  Heads, cams, intakes, ignition, exhaust, blowers, nitrous now push the pedal and go fast!!!

I am going to hop on the bike and zoom across the desert this Sat to take a look, If the price is right the bike will get loaded in the back and I will drive the truck home. Now here is the catch if I buy the Ford the Mog gotta go! This is a hard decision but I might be ready for a wheeling hiatus, the kids are not that into it any more and I can't get the wife to go with me so what is the point of having a big bad ass rig that will fit 5 people and a ton of gear? Still not sure yet, any one want to buy a built Unimog?........... more to come.
