A few weekends ago JustChad, Moorehouse, and Myself  escorted a new employee at the banjo shop to his first desert adventure. He is here fresh from England and is still getting a feel for the states and especially So Cal. I think there were a lot of firsts for him on this trek including just being in the desert, firing a firearm and sleeping in a roof top tent. I haven't had time to quiz him on what he honestly thought about the trip, but  I know I sure had a blast and by the looks on Dave and Chads faces id have to say they had as good as time as I.

We couldn't wait so we got out of town early  on Friday afternoon. On my prompting we decided to get to Borrego as soon as we could. From East County I think its a bit quicker to go east on 8 then up sunrise hwy and down the grade to Borrego. It was A bit warm here in town but still thought it was a good route until the rest stop on the 8. Had to spend a little daylight letting the FSJ cool down. After that it was smooth sailing the whole weekend. It was kinda of weird seeing snow on Luguna though being it was 100 plus in the desert and in the low 90's in town.

We ran into Borrego and took in some of the sculptors and topped of the tanks. From there it was to Fonts point where we stayed for the evening. Saturday morning around 10:00 or so we followed Chads Blazer through San Felipe's wash to the airport. South from there to Split Mtn. to Plaster City where we ended up having dinner at the Boy Scouts Rocketeer camp. Then back up the 8 and home.

These Pics were taken by our new British friend Jamie.
