A group of 12 Southern California Tacomas met up last Saturday for a day run in the desert. Three of the Tacomas were 2WD, but only one needed my help getting to the top of the Diablo Dropoff.

Some fun at Devil's Slide came first.

Then down into Split Mountain.

Now we are ready to enter Broken Shaft Gulch!

Next, the Diablo Dropoff BACKWARDS!

Diablo Dropoff is a 2 part grade. The first is short but steep, the second is long and sandy with a final steep pitch to the top.

The second half is the long sandy grade... this white Tacoma is the one I needed to help up to the top:

Enjoy the video clip of my 4WD pulling the 2WD up:

We drove to near the mud caves in Arroyo Tapiado for a lunch break...

My Hankook Dynapros still looking good after 11,000 miles.

Reckless Taco (Matt) was trail boss and he does a fine job. Always a nice time with this group!
