Im building something kinda different you guys might be interested in. Im building Suspension seats with ultra high bolsters that are recline-able. I had request from a local crawler to build him something for his rig. He really liked the Mastercraft Pro race seats so that is what I used for the measurements. Only Im giving him that seat with the ability to recline. Think they will be really sweet when finished. I have the seat heaters on order so as soon as they get here they are off to the upholstery shop. I have also developed and air bagged seat riser that will be going under this seat. I have been working for sometime on getting something that is short enough to get under most seats. I just took and order for my first YJ seat riser so I will be using it for a model.

The seat air riser are called Bengels A.S.S  (air suspension seating) As soon as I get these installed and tested I hope to go into mass production and supply the world!  Pics soon I promise

Seats go to upholstery tomorrow for the new threads. I finally got all the pivots and moving stuff all worked out thanks to Pete @ hotshot racing. That guy has Solid works skills that I didn't know was humanly possible. Anyways, the first Proto type mechanism is complete and on tract for delivery next week for field abuse.  TDay

A few pics of what Im willing to show as of now...

Those look cool

Any idea what they might cost?

Will they have cutouts for harnesses?

Its kinda of funny... Being he mentioned us on the radio I guess he doesn't mind folks knowing? I'm building these for Chris Boyer of the DSC. We measured him up and these seats are literally Taylor made as are all our seats are. He is a bit tall in his back so we scooted things up a bit so the head rest and harness straps slots landed in the right place.

I charge about the same as the Mastercraft Baja XD series seats, but our seats are more like the Pro series in the way they feel and each one is Taylor built, Double ply suspension material on the base, recline-able , and made in the USA! The options I provide are about 1/2 the price of the other guys. So the typical seats are right about $XXX.00 per seat. 1026 DOM & 4130 Moly seat frames are a bit more. These seats aren't the Cheap seats, but they are Loge seats. I design and built these to be unique, comfortable, and functional. Available in suspension seat configuration or with the Zig Zag springs.

As far as the air ride suspension platform goes I developed it for a few reasons. First off it seems everyone I know has a bad back, and if not them there passengers do. After sitting in a few big rigs I knew that that was the answer but I needed to get that ride in a smaller package. I also had in mind the long hours spent in the seat on many cross country wheeling treks. Even with the most comfortable seat it still can take its toll on the body, relieving that discomfort seemed a good enough reason to put the effort into its development.

I haven't worked out the final cost as of yet but it looks like it will be right around $XXX.00 per seat mechanism. Tons of time and thought has been given on how to get things smaller and lower all while working correctly has finally paid off. It looks as though the Bengels A.S.S. System will be the name that it will be registered under. It stands for Bengels Air Suspension Seating Systems. Its funny I haven't even told anyone about um except you guys and a few close friends and yet I already have a waiting list for them. Just checked into the patent pending thing so I should be good to go here in the next month or so for production.  ThumbUp

Chris Boyer seems like a good guy. I've bumped into him around town a few times at NAPA and harbor freight and chatted with him out a Superstition a few times.

Still working out all the little details but you guys  know that the prototypes always take a bit longer than the norm. Here's the drivers side all slicked up and ready for the final assembly. We should be delivering these tomorrow.

Okay,
So I already have these on my "must have" list, but I have a quick question.  Since these are one off made right now, would it be possible to have the embrodery on the head rest done to custom specs?  I was thinking that it would be cool to had the head rest have a Chief's anchor with my screen name embroydered on it.....of course a Made by Bengels along the bottom so everyone knows where to get them.  Also, are you going to be putting a speaker in the headrest for a CB like you had mentioned earlier?  Either way, those are some PIMP seats and I want a set.

Thanks Chief, its good to see ya checking in from the other side of the world. Digitized pick of your choice runs about $75.00 then depending on the image is it will run between $10 and $50 depending on the colors and size for the actually embroidery.

The speaker is an easy option to make happen. Chris uses a helmet and is wired for sound I think so the head rest speaker wasn't needed. But the seat heaters are going to spoil him. ThumbUp

Being he drives an international and not a Heap I did the IH logo in the side for him.

Oh!!!! Big idea!  How about a bench seat that fits in the back with three bolstered seats so folks with families can provide the same safety and comfort for their kids/ back seat passengers.  I think that would prove to be a little more difficult as it would almost have to be a one off design.  But just a thought.

My thoughts exactly.  If mt family is going to be spending time up side down, high bolster seats and 5 point harness would be a great idea.
