Have you ever heard that a slight difference in front to rear gearing could actually be an advantage in off road? I had some guy claiming that a slight difference actually helped on slick surfaces and some rock conditions. I have never heard of such a thing but this guy was so convincing I just had to ask?  He says he is running a 411 /410 combo to be honest I don't know that there would be enough difference to matter?

Never heard of a benefit but I do know that the ratio being within 1% is considered close enough to not cause breakage.

It's used in rc crawling all the time. It also helps in rc when turning, it kinda acts like a front dig. In a 1:1 rig I could see too drastic of a differance braking stuff because of the weight. An rc crawled only weighs about 5lbs.

4.10 is .997566 the same as a 4.11.  The difference comes from tooth count and ring gear diameter and the math associated with each.  There is NO perceptible difference between a 4.10 gear and 4.11 gear.  The difference in tire diameter will be a larger issue than any variance in those gears.

See you on the trails.

Mudders run a faster gear in the front.
