Hey guys, I'm new to this site. I was just told about it by my brother-in-law and joined it earlier this morning. Now I'm just on checking it out now that I have some time.
I have an 04 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.

We're glad you have such a thoughtful brother-in-law... and even more glad you came back and introduced yourself! Feel free to look around and relax for awhile... Post up some pics of your rig when you get a chance. Where in SoCal are you, and where do you like to wheel?  Welcome and enjoy

I'm in Oceanside. I don't go out a whole lot, pretty new to it. We go out to Corral Canyon and he shows me around and stuff. It's a lot of fun. I think I'm getting the hang of it... :-\

We are going to go out again this Saturday and mess around some more.

I have a feeling that there are a lot of us new people here? I need to get up to speed. lol Maybe extra time wheeling is required. If thats what I have to do, then I'll do it! ;D ;D ;D Glad to meet you. Hopefully we can meet up soon to wheel.

It's good to meet you guys too.
So, I'm thinking about getting just a muffler put on the Jeep. Anybody know of anything that sounds good? I don't want anything too raspy or loud. just a nice deep sound. I don't want to get a whole cat back...

Id just wait until the stock header falls apart an replace the whole thing... Those Jeep headers are known for not lasting to long. They crack pretty quickly. Its such a pain to pull them out just to weld um up, then put it all back together. Easyer to just throw a header in and forget it. Just my 2 cents.

So you are just saying not to put a muffler on it but just to put headers on instead when these go bad? That would be cool but I would only have the money to do just a single muffler and not a cat back system, let alone headers... :'(
But thanks for the heads up about the stock exhaust manifold, I had no clue that they didn't last long on the Jeeps.

I had a 2000 TJ with 48000 miles with no exhaust leaks at all. My new jeep has 56000 miles with a stainless exhaust system on it. It was changed out due to extensive cracking... my stainless system leaks worse? Maybe a new donut is needed. Ive heard from alot of people that the stock manifold is a weak link and breaks up fairly easy.

Im sorry! I get a little carried away at times. I have a nice little Flowmaster That was removed from another vehicle here at the shop. If you would like to try it and see how it sounds, its yours for the taking... It might save you a few bucks?  I know its in good shape. Let me know if your interested. Bob
