Here is what I started with.  1987 Samurai with a dead motor.
My plans are...
Rebuild the motor
Learn to weld
Buy a bender
But a lot of tubing
Build bumpers, sliders ,and a cage.

Pulled the motor out and did a rebuilt long block. Had the "carb" redone, and new exhaust.

The long term plan is:

New motor (done)
New exhaust (done)
Bumpers (done)
Sliders
Full cage
Front and rear lockers
YJ springs with missing links
New interior
29 inch tires on beadlocks ( I still want the gas mileage! )

you know if you change your T-case gears you could get away with 31's and still have decent mileage. I want to upgrade to the YJ's myself someday.
So you fabing your own cage?
Keep us posted.

I finished the bumpers today. Here are some pictures. I am painting them right now. When the paint dries I will mount them and I will post more pictures tomorrow.

Moke,
I am going to build my own Cage. That's why I am doing the bumpers first. I have never done any tube bending before. I have learned a lot from just the bumpers. By the time I finish the Sliders I hope I can keep the wasted tubing to a minimum.

Thanks to all...

Um.....if that is how your bumpers come out for never bending tubing before I would say your cage will be okay.  ~smartass
