Thanks guys, this looks like a great local SOCAL oriented forum to be in.  Here are a couple pics from my website taken in Johnson Valley, they're all I have available to post from work.  It's definitely got a lot of miles (just over 175K) on it but it works pretty good...

The next one is my son riding shotgun with me.  He grew up offroading in my Jeep so he can pretty well sleep through stuff that even has some decent pucker power to it.

Edit:  Photos editted to better reflect our 'Tread Lightly' way of offroading...

Nah but don't tell anybody.  ~clown

Edit:  That eyepatch thing is an old joke, someone photochopped that eyepatch onto a photo of me and I just "adopted" it as an avitar on that other forum.  ;D

Welcome and very cool looking jeep.  How'd you break the steering box even with that skid plate around it

I bought the Tommy Lee steering box used and it turns out the round steel seal in the front was already damaged but I didn't notice it when I installed it.  So it wasn't trail damage that caused the problem, it would have blown soon no matter where I was.  Luckily, a friend who is unbelievably well equipped with spare parts had a spare freshly rebuilt Tommy Lee steering box back at camp.
