I bought some light's to mount on my jeep up near the windshield, I have already installed the light mounts and now I'm just trying to figure out the best way to route the wiring. I am really trying to make it look as clean as possible.
Any and all help would be appreciated...............Thanks, Big boy ???

I was going to post the same question when I read this. So I would like to add to it...

Where and how do you run the wires through the body? I never liked taking a drill to the body of a vehicle.

With out drilling, about the only good way I have seen is down and under the front pannel that the wind shield wipers come out of. Ive notched the edge up just enough for the wire to sneek under and ran them from there? Just my 2 cents?

Thanks M.T. for the info. I also took a look at 05moabtj's today and he pretty much did it the same way that you described.

Paul (05MoabTJ) has a clean install, I've also seen similar setups where they drill through the frame right below the lights and into the cab.

I had lights on my windshield (mounts are for sale...) and I used shrink-wrap on the wires and then tucked them into the slot on the outside of the windshield frame and then into the cab.

Lights in that spot are nice if the majority of your wheelin is crawlin like Paul does, but, if you get out in the open desert like Ocotillo Wells or in sand they can really mess up your visibility from glare, which is why I took mine off, I really didn't like them.

That said, I would recommend trying routing the wires outside the windshield frame first, try them out and be sure you like them before you drilling holes in the body...

To late, I installed them today. I figure if I know I'll be any where near "the squeeze" I'll take them off. They come off pretty easy, all the wires plug in right under the plate behind the hood.

Thanks for all the help guys...........................Big boy.

Nice job on the lights. I've been through the squeeze several times with the lights mounted there. The only real problem for TJ's at least is the right rear corner scraping on the rock, as long as you keep the 6" lights and don't put searchlights up there  ~eek

Where did you mount the switch inside? I can't figure out where to put mine. I got a lot a crap in there.
Speaking of searchlights... (My son says my Jeep looks the the light hose in Point Loma)

I have them wired into a factory fog light switch where the rear defroster switch was, and I also did the bezel conversion, took out the ashtray and installed a second set of switches there using ARB style switches for the lockers and compressor. I'll get some pics and post them up. I also have switches mounted on the center console on the space behind the shifter, works quite well for the rock lights
