So I was wondering how everyone likes to camp. I know some prefer to stay in a tent and some prefer to bring every thing and the kitchen sink and stay in a motorhome?? Just curious.............Bigboy

I have a 20' Class C RV that I use to tow the Jeep. A/C, satellite tv, microwave, hot inside and outside shower, now that's camping!!!
I used to be a die-hard, do it in the dirt camper until a couple of years ago when I got caught in a storm at 4AM at Aqua Caliente, spent the next several hours trying to rescue the camp site and get everything wrapped up and loaded into the XJ in howling winds and sideways rain. it was brutal. The folks next to me lost their tent, it just blew off across the desert somewhere, never did find it.
So now, it's high, dry and comfy watching football on Sunday ;D

I usually camp in a tent or on the bike trailer. We are in the prossess of developing a extreme fully self contained camping trailer(expedition style). If things slow down at the shop well get busy on them.

If things slow down at the shop well get busy on them. Now that is way cool. Will it have a covered outside cooking area or is it inside and how long would set-up/tear-down time be? And gotta have a shower :-). Love the swing away bumper and the third bunk

Well this was going to be kept under wraps for awhile, but oh well! ::) We have had a Product development meeting about this rig already. We have a group of 6 that are leaders in their industries... designers, machinests, fabricators, ect.
The cooking area would be out side, but enclosable with a tent skirt if wanted. As far as tear down time... fold and lock the tent closed. Stoe the loose stuff, and your off. guessing 10 to 15 minutes... Just depends on how messy you camp LOL. I know guys that it takes 15 minutes just to collect up the beer cans! ::)
This is what we are in the process of designing right now for production soon. The trailer will be a modular design. A. A basic trailer B. trailer with side boxs for creature comforts, C. A full blown camping trailer with roof rack and all the bells and whistles. All the trailers will have an A arm airbag with transverse shock system. Tons of ground clearence! The only other requirement was that it had to be built on a 4'x 8' platform. this would be able to accommodate 2 full size dirt bikes (one foward, one reversed) enclosed. By making it 4x8 it could also be used for a construction trailer if needed. But the primary goal was to be able to buy simple platform and add to it as needed. Extereme camping is what we are interested in... I really want to get out and away from the masses on my weekends. There are alot of features that are being looked at Ie. fully removable tow hitch. 1. for security when left unattended 2. to be attachable to the rear of trailer just incase you get stuck in a reviene. 3. easier storage in close areas such as a garage. Everything has to take on the Swiss Army Knife multi function approach. Like you mentrioned the outrigger bumper that triples as a bench seat, and a stabalizer for the tent overhang, as well as a tent skirt mount if required. The goal is to make this towable with the average Jeeo 4.0 or Toyota 6 cylinders. I could go on for ever...LOL We've just moved our shop to a new location. The move has put us behind schedual on production by a couple of months... Not to mention starting a forum, a new website in the works, ect. Stay tuned!

We usually camp in our Motor home but something like that would be pretty cool to have for over nighters to the desert.

Just for simplicity purposes and acking room, I have always gone w/ a tent. Of course, during the summer this puts me out of commission as a tent becomes an oven. I like everyone's set up. Very cool.

I like my air conditioned RV, but for those way out there trips, I'd seriously be looking at one of those rigs
