Jeff and I have been talking for awhile now about building a set of fenders for his rig. There are several on the market that are easy to purchase and install, But no!!! that would be to easy.  ~1eye So I orded up some material last Thursday and got started on Saturday. We started with a hoop that will go around the headlights and in case of a rollover it should help protect his radiator. We used that hoop as a good mounting point for the front of the fenders. We chose to flange the fenders for easy removal if required. We also wanted to give the maximum amount of Clarence to the 37's he's running. Our solution was to not cut the hood, but build the fenders up above the side of the hood. Now the out side edge of the tire should be able to roam free within the wheel well, and never touch a thing other than rocks.  We got the fenders all fabbed and welded today thanks to DesertCrawler and his gift of welding. Pretty beads everytime!   Jeff was busy turning wrenches all weekend and I just had fun making stuff.... A good time was had by all here. Tagalong was kind enough to post up some recent pics for your viewing pleasure. More to come of the sheetmetal soon.

Ya nice fenders thanks to Desert Crawler and M. T.  Once D.C. got them welded up and we put them these things are stout. The front hoop is the key to making these things as strong as they are. Now just need the sheet metal finished up and off to the powder coaters and they will be ready for some SCUFF action. Here are some photos of the fenders welded , installed, and getting the pattern for the skin

Yeah... It needed a little something. It looks like the goggle on the hood. I think it will tie in nicely after the powder coat is done.

Jeff looks like you have a date with some of those tight notches out at Truckhaven in the near future. ~punk

MT if I have time this week, I would like to swing by the shop to discuss some fenders for my TJ. ~hammer
